Regenerative craftsmanship as an ecological manifesto
Et si le futur du design passait par l’écoute du vivant ?
Founded in 2024 by Nathalie Guiot, ALEOR CRAFT & BIODESIGN has emerged as a sensitive, radical and poetic response to the climate crisis. More than just a design gallery, ALEOR is a hybrid space, somewhere between a creative laboratory, a sustainable transformation agency and a manifesto for regenerative design.
Driven by a cross-disciplinary vision combining art, craftsmanship and ecology, ALEOR promotes contemporary creations made from bio-based, recycled or renewable materials, crafted by committed designers and artists. Its goal? To reconcile innovation and memory, aesthetics and commitment, ancient practices and green technologies.
Born out of the ‘Regenerative Futures’ exhibition at the Thalie Foundation, ALEOR is part of a desire to create a new ecological narrative. It brings together creators who question the environmental impact of production while exploring the beauty of a repaired world.
ALEOR: when creation becomes a regenerative act
Under the leadership of Nathalie Guiot — collector, curator, patron and founder of the Thalie Foundation — ALEOR has established itself from the outset as a pioneering cultural player in biodesign. Biodesign, or biological design, favours a circular approach: it focuses on living organisms, the long term and sustainable experimentation.
ALEOR was created with a dual purpose:
On the one hand, to promote emerging ethical and ecological design practices through a travelling gallery showcasing unique pieces and limited series made from renewable materials.
On the other hand, to act as a consulting structure for companies wishing to integrate sustainable solutions into their product lines.
This dual approach, combining artistic curation and strategic support, makes ALEOR a unique platform in the European contemporary design landscape.
A first manifesto exhibition at Collectible
ALEOR's public recognition accelerated in March 2025, when it participated for the first time in Collectible, the Brussels fair dedicated to contemporary collectible design. In this space dedicated to the avant-garde, ALEOR presented an inaugural collection combining sensitive installations, sculptural furniture, utilitarian pieces and speculative works.
Each piece on display embodies research into living materials, recycled waste, biodegradability and the memory of artisanal techniques. From woven linen to transformed seaweed, from raw earth to natural resins, the materials here tell stories those of creators who refuse to separate beauty from justice.
